About

“The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second-best time is today.”

The Art House Presents
The One Who Planted Trees
By Spare Parts Puppet Theatre

Bandicoot, Koala and a very fun-loving Frill Necked lizard regale their story, part truth, part myth but mostly inspiration, of a woman who transforms her world to bring about hope and happiness for herself and the world around her.

Do you ever wonder how much just one person out of 7.8 billion can really accomplish?

Inspired by Jean Giono’s The Man Who Planted Trees, The One Who Planted Trees is an inspirational story that proves just how much one person can do and will have you humming out of the theatre, pulling out the spade and watering plants into the ground.

In the face of a global climate emergency, how can we find hope? What good can one person do? This is a fun joyous springboard for serious discussion about our world and the environment we all value.

Free Pre-Show Entertainment: Live Animal Experience with Central Coast Zoo in the Studio

MEDIA REVIEWS

“The One Who Planted Trees was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. It had such a kind and important message that brings awareness to the world about the current state of our forests and bush.” – Stage Whispers

"The message is clear, told with great tunes, a remarkable set and heaps of humour. The One Who Plants Trees is fabulous theatre for the entire family, we could definitely watch it again to pick up another layer and have just as much fun. Highly recommended!" – SeeSaw

“Under Phillip Mitchell’s direction, the show was produced with immense awareness and consideration. It is no easy task to take a serious topic and to mould it for younger audiences. Mitchell and his team have managed to juxtapose a moral message with the spirit of positivity, innocence, and wonder.” – ArtsHub
