The Art House presents
a Hayes Theatre Co. production
Ride The Cyclone
Book, Music & Lyrics by Jacob Richmond & Brooke Maxwell

In this hilarious and exhilarating story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a rollercoaster.

When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other – the chance to return to life.

Bursting with witty, memorable songs and featuring some of the most compelling characters in modern musical theatre, this remarkable show makes a uniquely uplifting and deeply funny case for what makes a life worth living.

This bold, striking, and genre-busting musical started life in Canada, before becoming a hit in Chicago and New York, and then a record-breaking online phenomenon (with over half a billion views on Tik-Tok).

Now the show has its long-awaited Australian premiere in an all-new production from Hayes Artistic Directors Richard Carroll & Victoria Falconer.

“The show inherently combines teen-scream mayhem with existentialism, and then layers in sophisticated wit and theatricality” – Sydney Morning Herald

“The Hayes Theatre has rewarded us yet again…utterly charming, utterly bonkers and utterly wonderful…” - ArtsHub

“Dark yet camp, nihilistic yet strangely life affirming, this show is full of surprises and just as brilliantly bonkers as it sounds.”  – TimeOut

“…this is well worth seeing for anyone that enjoys dark twisty stories, bright new musicals and seeing emerging new talent.” - BroadwayWorld

“…poignant…punchy and cleverly funny” – Stage Whispers

“…it’s the excellent cast that is most integral in making Ride the Cyclone a memorable night.” – Theatre Matters

By arrangement with ORiGiN™ THEATRICAL on behalf of Broadway Licensing
