My Life in Art - so far
Bronwyn Hunter
In this exhibition I am taking the viewer on a journey through my exploration of art in my life – so far!
Art has always been a part of my life but it wasn’t until I was in my 30’s that I had the opportunity to explore my creative side more fully. I undertook training in many artistic fields initially in textile art and later in broader visual arts culminating in the completion of a Master of Art at UNSW Art & Design (COFA) in 2016.
I now focus on creating multidimensional, non-traditional artworks using a range of materials from textiles to paper, to metal and beyond.
Much of my work reflects my experiences and passion about issues of injustice – particularly with respect to restrictive social expectations placed on women. I endeavour to tap into my emotional responses to life whether they be loss and sorrow or joy and fulfilment.
In showing some of my journey I hope my work resonates with viewers in a way that is unique to them and encourages them to explore their own perceptions about this world and their creative place within it.
