Australian music sensation Brad Cox is thrilled to announce his upcoming solo tour, "Yarns and Yodels," set to captivate audiences across regional Australia. Inspired by the 50 or so sold-out solo shows Brad performed during lockdown, he will be taking to the theatre stage to perform beloved Coxy favourites, both new and old, and hopefully get a few laughs in the process.
Unlike the Brad Cox full band rock show, the “Yarns and Yodels" tour offers an intimate and up-close experience, showcasing Brad's versatility as an artist.
Fans can look forward to a rich and diverse showcase of Brad's talents, spanning from upbeat country pop to moving piano ballads. More than just a musical journey, Brad's performances are infused with his distinctive and humorous storytelling. This combination promises not only a much loved singalong, but also a bloody good laugh.
Inspired by the likes Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura and many other stand up comics, Brad will let the audience decide if it’s a worthy dabble in stand up, or maybe time to sit down.
Talking about the solo shows Brad stated, “The concept for the Yarns and Yodels shows was born out of the pandemic. After stripping back the show to an acoustic, sit-down, solo setting during lockdown, I fell in love with the format again. It forced me to re-learn songs and play them as they were written. Me, a bottle of wine, and the shits with the world - that’s the formula for good songs”
“I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to recreate these shows, but take it one step further and out of the pubs and into intimate theatres. I have road-tested it a bunch of times, and now I am keen to take it far and wide. And who knew this little fat kid from the snow could muster up a few funny yarns and get a proper belly laugh out of the crowd.”
This announcement comes hot on the heels of the remarkable success of his recent headline shows and the overwhelming response to his recent album ‘Acres’, released in May 2023.
Brad Cox, known for his authentic spirit and down-to-earth persona, has become a prominent figure in the Australian music scene. His third studio album, 'Acres,’ not only topped the ARIA Country Charts but has been coupled with the overwhelming success of the 'Acres Tour’. The tour saw packed houses across metro and regional Australia, selling 30,000 tickets in 2023, and solidifying his status as one of the country's most celebrated musicians.
Not one to become complacent, Brad is gearing up to release new music soon, offering fans something new and exciting to look forward too in the near future.
