Art Exhibition - The Shape of Colour

Central Coast artist Marijke Greenway shares a collection of works inspired by nature and colour.

"Even though I have been painting seriously for over 40 years, I still regard each day that I can paint as a gift in my life. Over the years I have developed an intense and joyful relationship with colour, it is the central force of my art which makes me choose subjects that present with colour.  In Australia colour abounds and living on the Central Coast with an Arboretum on my doorstep, I am spoilt for choice.

My favourite subject at present is trees and I find immense satisfaction in capturing the sense of being there - of distilling the essence of nature and recording all the permutations of colour seen and felt." - Marijke Greenway
