In-Depth Stage Management with Khym Scott
Khym Scott is a freelance stage manager based in Sydney. Khym’s recent credits include: The Cherry Orchard, Fangirls - 2021 tour, Barbara and the Camp Dogs, This Heaven, The Dance of Death, Miss Julie (Belvoir); Superheroes, Family Values, First Love is the Revolution, City of Gold, Prima Facie, Good Cook. Friendly. Clean., Kill Climate Deniers, Festival of New Writing, Girl in Tan Boots, The Serpent’s Table, The Witches (Griffin Theatre Company); The Misanthrope (Bell Shakespeare/Griffin Theatre Company); developments of Double Delicious and Stories Then and Now (Contemporary Asian Australian Performance); Lady Rizo: Red, White and Indigo (Sydney Festival). From 2013 to 2017 he was assistant stage manager of The Australian Ballet, and toured regionally (as stage manager), nationally and internationally. He has also stage managed for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Khym is a graduate of NIDA and The University of Sydney, and is a stage management mentor and advanced calling tutor at NIDA.
This workshop will look at specific challenges that stage management may face, and discuss the varied role that stage managers take in different processes.
