“Rape & Other Acceptable Practices” is Dr. Daniel Widdowson’s commentary on unacceptable social problems which include rape, gaslighting, silencing
victims, and victimising perpetrators. This one-act, three person, minimalist production, explores the following themes: Rape, Consent, Rights, Abuse,
Gaslighting, Mental Health, Duty of Care, Trust, Support, Speaking Out, and Consequences.
The production is premiering at the Art House Wyong, before touring NSW and ACT, and is directed by Central Coast local Sylvia Keays.
Writer, Daniel Widdowson, is a member of the Australian Writers Guild, Australian of the Year finalist, Australian Playwright finalist, Ambassador for
the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation, and winner of Best Screenplay at the New York Film Awards. His 2017 commentary on the global refugee crisis, “Worm
Farming” is endorsed by Julian Burnside AO QC, and has been published by Australian Plays.
